The fifth generation is as committed to making the best use of the farm as the first. Now, in addition to the dairy, we're creating renewable power and setting a national standard for others to follow.
Five generations, one piece of land
Late 1800s
The Fogler family works the land
The Fogler family has been farming in Exeter, Maine since the late 1800s. Willis J. Peabody, then patriarch, and family at the farm around 1935 — Willis' daughter married a Fogler, and the rest is history.
1950s
Stonyvale becomes a commercial dairy
The farm started as a commercial operation in the early 1950s with only 17 cows.
2011
Digesters arrive on the farm

2013
Agri-Cycle is established
Agri-Cycle was founded to support sister company Exeter Agri-Energy. What began as a way to preserve the viability of a family farm blossomed into a sustainable solution for businesses and organizations seeking a home for wasted food.
Today
Over 2,000 animals, 6 million gallons
The farm now has over 2,000 animals on site — 1,200 milked each day and more than 1,000 young stock — with storage for 6 million gallons of manure.
2025
Closed Loop Partners acquires Agri-Cycle
Agri-Cycle was purchased by Closed Loop Partners, a New York-based private equity firm specializing in the circular economy and sustainable materials management. Agri-Cycle continues to work with EAE as a partner alongside a growing network of outlets across the nation.
